"PEER GYNT" album release - Ragnhild Hemsing

On February 25th 2022, the new album PEER GYNT by Ragnhild Hemsing will be released on the Berlin Classics label.
Together with the wonderful chamber orchestra Trondheim Soloists, Hemsing has recorded a completely new arrangement of the drama music "Peer Gynt" by Edvard Grieg. For a long time, Ragnhild Hemsing had wanted to transcribe the music of Peer Gynt also on the Hardanger fiddle: "I thought that parts of the music would fit perfectly on the Hardanger fiddle in combination with solo violin and string orchestra. But I wanted to dive deeper into the material, fully aware that folk music and the Hardanger fiddle were sources of inspiration for it."
